Carpet Cleaning Tips
A professional Carpet Cleaner once told me a little insider secret. Shampoo & detergents make your carpets dirtier than plain water! Here's the deal, when you clean your carpets with shampoos, they always leave soap deposits behind. These deposits hold onto dirt & will make your carpets get dirty faster, giving the carpet cleaning professional a reason to come back a few months later!
Here's what you should do:
Vacuum your carpets first. If you can, purchase a hot water carpet extractor. They are about $150.00. You can also rent one from your local market or home center for about $30.00.
I personally don't like to rent them because your just bringing strangers dirt into your house & who knows what they picked up with it (YUCK!)
I like to add about a 1/4 cup of baking soda to the hot water, this helps to neutralize odors especially if you have pets. Follow the directions that come with the cleaner & just remember,
Don't use soap! You'll be surprised how much dirt comes up with just water. If you do this about 2-3 times a year your carpets will last twice as long!

Quick Summer grilled chicken recipe
Hi Everyone! It's Summer & let's face food just tastes better on the grill!
Here is a great quick idea for grilled chicken that does not break the bank & will give you some great leftovers for some quick meals.
At the grocery market pick up a bag or two of frozen boneless chicken breast. These bags are about 40-48 ounces of flash frozen breast meat. They range in price between $8 - $12 & contain about 6-8 breasts. Defrost the chicken in cold water in a large pot. I'm one for food safety so change the water every 30-40 minutes until they are completely defrosted. While your grill is heating up, trim any excess fat from the breasts & then season each side with Onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, oregano & basil. Add or subtract any of these spices to taste.
Grill both side of the chicken until cooked. You can cut one of the breasts open to make sure that it is completely cooked. The chicken will be tender & juicy & is great served with some baked beans & corn on the cob. Any leftover breast can be used to make your favorite chicken salad, or cut them into strips & add to a garden salad. Enjoy!

Home Decor Trends - Country & shabby cottage Signs!
Decorating with signs is easy and fun! It's a great way to showcase your personality in your home decor! It doesn't matter what style you have your home decorated in or what colors your rooms are. A correctly placed sign will add fun, whimsy and in some cases, even romance, to your home's atmosphere!
Every room needs a sign and I can promise you that there is a sign out there to fit every personality! Colors and styles are not a problem. You can find signs in rustic country primitive, distressed wood styles, which come in dark, tea stained colors. Or, if you prefer light and airy pastels, more suited to a French country cottage or the shabby chic style of decorating, you can find that too. And kids absolutely love bright colors in their rooms. Trendy colors for little girls rooms are hot pink, lime green, turquoise and purple. Bright orange has become popular too and you might not think of it, but bright orange looks great when paired with turquoise! Blue and orange are what's called "complimentary colors", and though they seem opposite, they work great together! Bright orange also looks great with hot pink! It's definitely eye-popping, but fun! Colors for little boys' rooms are a little more traditional, usually with reds, blues and greens being the most popular. But again, it depends on the personalities involved. When choosing home decor signs, think about the interests of the person, then choose your colors and sayings from there.

Back to our Pip Berries, we suggest using our berry candle rings in corresponding colors. Use our 4" berry rings around pillar or jar candles on the tables. If you're not using jar candles, you'll need a drip tray to catch the melting wax. We offer wooden candle trays in different sizes that can be custom painted to match your berry ring colors! Color coordination is definitely the key when decorating for your wedding. We also offer these berry rings in a 2" size. Two inches is the inside diameter of these rings, so they will fit perfectly around a standard votive candle cup. Using votive candles, a lot of them, all over the reception room adds a very romantic, twinkly flair to the occasion. You may want to stay with unscented candles, so as not to overwhelm your guests. Also keep in mind, that lit candles may not be a good idea if there are going to be small children at your wedding. But, these same 2" berry rings are also the perfect size to use as napkin rings!
